David Phillips is a Chicago-based freelance writer and consultant, with nearly 20 years experience working in community news and business news. He currently contributes to Food Business News magazine and he spent eight years as chief editor of Dairy Foods magazine, the top trade magazines for the North American dairy processing industry. Prior to his trade magazine experiences, Phillips served on staff for numerous small and mid-sized daily newspapers in Illinois and Florida. Phillips is also a member of the American Cheese Society, and a board member of the Chicago Beer Society. He works with clients in the dairy, specialty foods and craft beer industries. He also is a Certified Beer Server, and past program coordinator for the Cicerone™ Certification Program.
