Ricotta and IPA, for the Holiday

David | Blog | February, 21 2011 | No Comment

It’s President’s Day, and I have nothing special prepared. I won’t buy furniture today, but I will take the kids for ice cream. Perfect occasion to direct readers to a couple of my favorite blogs.

It’s Not You, It’s Brie posted late last week a visit-the-cheeseroom piece on a New York ricotta maker.  Make sure you have something creamy around before you read this and gawk at the lovely photos.

At Appelation Beer, Stan Hieronymus posted Friday about consumption and sales trends for IPA. Who doesn’t love IPA!  It’s become the gateway drug of beergeekdom. Stan’s observations and the comments they drew are worth a look.

Less than two weeks now before the annual Chicago celebration of cask ale. I’ll post something this week previewing Chicago Beer Society’s Day of the Living Ales.
