Thank You
It’s Thanksgiving day, and I’ll spend it with my family at the home of one of our dear friends. I’ve been asked by the hostess to bring cheese and beer. The cheeses will be Coupole, from Vemont Butter and Cheese Creamery, Tillamook Reserve Cheddar, and Rogue River Blue. I’ll also bring a bottle of Orchard White from the Bruery, a homebrewed session pale ale, and a Lodi Zinfandel.
My list of things to be thankful for is very long, but in this space, I simply want to thank two groups of people. First off, I’m thankful to the folks who have followed this blog since I launched it in March. It has been such a rewarding experience, and I hope that you are getting something out of it too. And of course I’m thankful for all the American brewers and cheeseamakers who have contributed to the simultaneous revolutions that have inspired Cheese and Cheers. From the graying pioneers to the tattooed upstarts, their need to create and their willingness to persevere have made life more enjoyable for those of us who enjoy their produce.
There is so much more, but preparations and football games await. Hope everyone has a great holiday.
–Dave
